Despite the challenges of declining birth rates, Feng Chia University continues to invest in education, such as the recent inauguration of Virtuosi Hall in February, designed by internationally renowned architect Kengo Kuma. This building is not only the largest construction project since the founding of Feng Chia but also serves as a base for cultivating literacy. Learning at the university is no longer confined to classrooms and facilities but takes place in an innovative and free-spirited campus environment. Virtuosi Hall, with its human-centered design, offers flexible and diverse spaces that encourage faculty and students to stay, promoting cross-disciplinary dialogue and seamlessly integrating indoor and outdoor spaces with the natural environment, creating a new type of learning space that intertwines functionality and co-creation.
In terms of internationalization, Feng Chia University has been leading Taiwan since 2014 by establishing the International School of Technology and Management. Over the past decade, the university has established solid partnerships with many of the world's top 100 universities, including The University of Queensland, Monash University, and UNSW Sydney, all ranked among the top 40 globally. These partnerships provide students with opportunities for overseas study and international exchange. Feng Chia's goal is for 25% of its students to have international participation experience, actively enhancing their global competitiveness through exchange programs, international internships, and competitions.
Facing the rapid development of AI, Feng Chia University actively promotes cross-disciplinary integration within various colleges, incorporating AI applications into the curriculum of different departments. Whether it is AI modeling in the field of information and electrical engineering, smart applications in the engineering department, big data analysis in the business management department, or the literacy, writing, and reading skills in the Chinese and foreign language departments, all have undergone curriculum transformation under the trend of AI popularization, comprehensively enhancing students' competitiveness. These AI education achievements are fully demonstrated in the outstanding performance and awards of Feng Chia students in various AI-related competitions.
Feng Chia University's consistent recognition in Cheers Magazine's University Presidents' Performance Evaluation Survey for ten consecutive years is not only due to its achievements in internationalization, promoting AI education, assisting industry AI implementation, digital transformation, and cross-disciplinary cooperation but also a recognition of Feng Chia University's educational philosophy.
