Cheers Magazine’s Nationwide University Presidents’ Peer Evaluation: Feng Chia University Named No. 1 Among Private Universities for the 12th Consecutive Year

2026.03.02

According to the latest results of the 2026 “University Governance Performance Peer Review” released by Cheers Magazine on February 26, Feng Chia University (FCU) once again stood out through its sound governance and forward‑looking strategic planning. Among 110 universities nationwide included in the evaluation, Feng Chia University ranked No. 5 overall in Taiwan and once again claimed No. 1 among private comprehensive universities.

As noted in the report, Feng Chia University is widely regarded as Taiwan’s most “enduring” university over the past 12 years. Throughout this period, the University has consistently remained within the national top five, never falling out of the rankings, and has placed among the top three for nine of those years. Its sustained performance in institutional governance has become a recognized benchmark of excellence within Taiwan’s higher education sector.

Feng Chia University Ranked No. 1 Among Private Universities for 12 Consecutive Years in Cheers 2026 Peer Review

In Cheers Magazine’s 2026 “University Governance Performance Peer Review,” Feng Chia University (FCU) has once again been named No. 1 among private universities nationwide, marking its 12th consecutive year at the top.

Among the top 20 universities in this year’s rankings, leading national universities continued to occupy the majority of positions. In the category of private comprehensive universities, however, only Feng Chia University, Tunghai University, Tamkang University, Fu Jen Catholic University, and Yuan Ze University made the list, with Feng Chia firmly holding the leading position.

According to this year’s evaluation results, university presidents across Taiwan unanimously attributed Feng Chia University’s continued leadership to three core factors: its ability to respond swiftly to globalization and socio‑economic change through forward‑looking strategic thinking and strong execution; the systematic integration of AI and digital transformation into institutional governance and teaching systems, comprehensively enhancing the efficiency of teaching, research, and administration while deepening innovative education; and the consistent outstanding performance of its students in major national and international indicator‑based competitions, providing tangible evidence of the University’s solid and competitive professional strength.

National and International Recognition Underscores Feng Chia University’s Sustained Momentum

At the 30th National Competition of Innovative Information Application Services for Universities, Feng Chia University (FCU) captured an impressive 13 awards, with two teams selected as Taiwan’s representatives to the APICTA (Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards), advancing to compete for international honors across the Asia‑Pacific region.

Feng Chia University’s record of remaining in the rankings for 12 consecutive years reflects not only the steady accumulation of teaching excellence, but also demonstrates the immense potential of private universities in optimizing resources and driving strategic innovation. President Vey Wang notes that Feng Chia University has long upheld a philosophy of “small steps, fast pace,” responding swiftly and flexibly to change while forging a distinctive path of transformation.

From the inauguration last year of Virtuosi Hall, a nationally recognized interdisciplinary learning hub, to the launch earlier this year—through a partnership with ASUS—of Taiwan’s first RTX 5080–powered “AI Smart Innovation Foundry,” Feng Chia University’s investment in education has never paused. Looking ahead, the University will initiate a large‑scale renovation of the College of Information and Electrical Engineering building as part of its forward‑looking plan to establish a School of Semiconductors, cultivating semiconductor professionals equipped with hands‑on skills, industry experience, and a global perspective—ready to contribute from day one.

President Wang shared with conviction:

“Regardless of students’ family backgrounds, once they step onto the Feng Chia campus, we give them opportunities to reach the world. We want our students to carry a map in their minds—not only knowing where they want to go, but also possessing the ability to get there.”

Data‑Driven Trust from Students, Industry, and Higher Education Peers

From achieving a 98.71% freshman enrollment rate, ranking No. 1 among private comprehensive universities according to Ministry of Education statistics; to placing No. 10 nationwide and No. 1 among private universities in Global Views Magazine’s “2026 Employers’ Most Preferred Universities Survey”; and once again claiming No. 1 among private comprehensive universities in Cheers Magazine’s 2026 “University Governance Performance Peer Review”—these indicators together paint a clear picture of Feng Chia University’s broad‑based recognition.

Across students and parents making enrollment choices, corporate leaders evaluating talent, and higher‑education peers conducting professional assessments, Feng Chia University continues to earn a high level of trust and affirmation, underscoring its sustained competitiveness and long‑term educational impact.
