


Academia and Industry Join Hands to Discuss Talent, Education, and Industrial Transformation in the AI Era
In response to the impact of the AI era on higher education, industry, and social development, Feng Chia University held the "Master Forum: Talent, Education, and Industrial Transformation in the AI Era" during the inauguration of Virtuosi Hall on February 16. The forum invited prominent experts from the academic and industrial fields of AI, including Tsinghua University Chair Professor Wei-Ying Ma, Feng Chia University Birthday Lecture Chair Professor Wei-Ying Ma, Taiwan's Father of Cryptography and National Academy of Artificial Intelligence (NAAI) Fellow Chin-Chen Chang, Tongji University in Shanghai Vice President Yongqi Lou, and ASUS COO and ASUS Cloud Chairman Ming-Jie Hsieh. They shared forward-looking perspectives on AI in talent cultivation, educational transformation, and industrial applications, leading attendees to insights into the AI-driven future and exploring new opportunities for higher education and industrial development.
Feng Chia University Vice President Kuo-Hao Tang introduced the distinguished guests, followed by each expert sharing their insights on AI in their respective fields. Professor Wei-Ying Ma detailed the applications and research frontiers of AI in the scientific domain, demonstrating how AI technology advances scientific research. Professor Chin-Chen Chang discussed the educational administrative details of student and industrial transformation, echoing the profound impact of AI transformation on society and emphasizing the importance of education in addressing these changes. Vice President Yongqi Lou explored the purpose and structure of educational talent cultivation and administrative management, highlighting the critical role of education in talent development. General Manager Ming-Jie Hsieh analyzed the comparison between mainstream generative AI and DeepSeek technology, providing participants with a deeper understanding of the latest AI technologies. The speakers further engaged with the audience, discussing the impact of AI on talent cultivation from the perspectives of educational technology and industry.

Following this, Feng Chia University Chairman Cheng-Shu Kao referenced Vice President Yongqi Lou's calligraphy inscription "Tongji Gongshan, Tianxia Dahao" during the morning's unveiling ceremony of the Feng Chia Tongji Research Center. The meaning and warmth of these eight characters, written in public, are beyond the reach of artificial intelligence. Similarly, the insights shared by the forum speakers on AI reflect the inclusiveness and diversity of Virtuosi Hall's development. The "Da" in "University" signifies a broad mind and vision, and we are grateful for the knowledge shared by the masters, enriching and diversifying our lives.

The forum discussed how higher education should respond to changes in the AI era, how industry and academia can work together to cultivate AI talents for the future, and how AI will impact social development. The event attracted over 400 participants from inside and outside the university, including more than 150 alumni and external participants from various fields such as education and industry, and over 250 faculty and students from various teaching and administrative units of Feng Chia University. It provided a platform for mutual learning and exchange among Feng Chia faculty, industry experts, and people from all walks of life, promoting academic and industrial exchanges and laying the foundation for future cooperation and development. The forum concluded with Vice President Kuo-Hao Tang summarizing the event with "Entering with AI, Ending with Talent Cultivation," marking a perfect end to the forum.
